Nexsan Appoints Philip Black Company CEO; Brings 25 Years of Industry Experience to Leader in Disk-Based Storage.

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexsan Technologies, the leader in innovative storage solutions, today named storage and telecommunication industries veteran Philip Black as its CEO. With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Black joins the company from LightSand Communications, where he served as CEO of the fabric extension solutions provider since 2001.

Black's hiring closely follows a recent executive expansion with the announcement of industry veterans Frank Patterson, as vice president of global supply chain, and Steve Freeman, as director of engineering. The two add an additional 45 years of combined experience in the high-tech industry to Nexsan's executive ranks.

He took Dot Hill public in 1997 and Tekelec public in 1986. Black has also been a key proponent behind SNIA's Information Lifecycle Management Initiative and currently serves as a co-chair of the Data Protection Initiative under SNIA's Data Management Forum.
