The Pacific Islanders finally delivered their first win in their brief history when they defeated Italy 25-17 at Stadio Giglio in their rugby tour finale on Saturday.
The Islanders _ the cream of Fiji, Samoa and Tonga _ formed in 2004 and first toured Europe in 2006, but always started cold without warmup games, and players joining in mid-tour. This month they struggled against England and blew their hopes against France last week when Napolioni Nalaga was sent off early.
As desperate as Italy was to end a winless month on a high, the Islanders started better when winger Vilimoni Delasau crashed over in the right corner after only three minutes.
